CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington’s medical system has a new specialist on the team.
Dr. Rafik Daihoum, an obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN), has recently joined the Groves Memorial Community Hospital team and Riverside Medical Group.
Daihoum has opened his practice in Centre Wellington with his office in the Trailside Medical Centre in Fergus. He will also deliver newborns at Groves hospital and offer specialized gynecological care to women.
Patients without a local family doctor and patients younger than 20 do not need a family doctor referral and can call the office directly at 519-787-7418. Those with a doctor part of the Upper Grand Family Health Team will be referred.
A press release from Groves hospital stated Daihoum gained experience practicing in Cape Town and Durban South Africa and is passionate about improving the lives and health of women through patient care.
“I like to take a collaborative, team approach when working with my patients,” Daihoum said in the release. “This is the cornerstone of good medicine and is particularly important in this field of specialty.”
