The name and logo have changed, but the services remain the same for clients of Compass Community Services, which until Tuesday was known as Family Counselling and Support Services of Guelph-Wellington.
“Compass was chosen to capture the reliable, trusted direction and support the agency brings to community members,” said executive director Joanne Young Evans in a news release. “The bold new logo adopts the key element of the old logo — caring, connected hands — while representing the guidance and direction Compass provides for community members.”
The former name is “outdated and led to confusion in the community,” notes the release, adding the new moniker reflects the organization’s current vision and range of services.
The four quadrants of the logo’s compass visually represent the primary areas of support the agency continues to provide: therapy services, developmental services, workplace wellness and phone support.
“Regardless of the best direction for you, the professional Compass staff can guide the residents of Guelph and Wellington there. Because everyone needs a little help now and then,” said Young Evans.
Compass Community Services provides a range of services to children, youth, individuals, couples, families and seniors and is LGBTQ+ friendly with accessible storefront locations in Guelph, Fergus and Mount Forest.
Updates to the website remain ongoing and are expected to be complete within the next two weeks. The new website address will be www.compasscs.org.
