GUELPH\ERAMOSA – Sustaining township infrastructure remains the focus of the Guelph/Eramosa budget in 2025.

Approving its 2025 budget and a 3.79 per cent tax increase at a Guelph/Eramosa council meeting Monday afternoon, staff said this represents an annual increase of $56.35 for residential properties assessed at $500,000.

The total budget is set at $23.5 million, with almost $8.7 million funded by taxes. Approximately 14.8 million will be funded by user fees, penalty and interest charges and capital funding through development charges and reserves.

Capital projects highlighted in the budget include IT upgrades, resurfacing projects on Eighth Line East and Fife Road, two bridge replacements, surveys and design for the Northeast Rockwood Road reconstruction project and several speed calming projects and park upgrades.

A previous draft of the budget proposed a 4.38 per cent increase.

This does not include the county portion of the tax bill.

Guelph/Eramosa saw a 4.93 per cent increase in 2024.
