A couple of drivers head down the hill in Downtown Elora at a past soap box derby race.

ELORA – A Canada Day tradition will hit the streets of Elora once again. 

Soap box derby races, hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington, will be held Canada Day morning in Downtown Elora.

Geddes Street between David and Henderson Street will be closed to normal traffic during this event.

There are four categories to enter: 

  • Jr. aged 6 to 9 for wheels under 10” in diameter
  • Sr. aged 10 to 16 for wheels under 10” in diameter
  • Jr. aged 6 to 9 for wheels over 10” in diameter
  • Sr. aged 10 to 16 for wheels over 10” in diameter

Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. with races kicking-off at 8:30 a.m. 

Registration is $20 per racer.
