SPACES, a new community-driven social network, is making its way to Elora-Fergus – and invites you to take a leading role.
Created alongside Elora-FergusToday.com (the go-to news site in town), SPACES is an interactive social media platform designed to connect Wellington County communities around shared interests.
From picturesque landscapes, thriving arts scenes to bustling centres, SPACES will be the platform that brings the community together over shared interests.
And it brings neighbours together. Whether you’re in Puslinch or Palmerston or anywhere in Wellington County, there could be a space dedicated to the issues and events that shape your 'hood.
Spaces are already connecting neighbours in Sault Ste. Marie, where the platform made its debut.

SEE: So you want to be a SPACES host
What sets SPACES apart from global social media networks is these spaces have local champions at the helm — also known as hosts — who are leading safe, civil and informative discussions about local topics of interest.
Hosts are residents who are experts in their respective fields or realm of interest and act as community stewards, guiding thoughtful dialogue on a wide range of topics.
These moderators will play an important role in the foundation of SPACES. This is where you come in.

Here are some great reasons to sign up as a SPACES host:

Facilitate collaboration on local issues: How can we collectively make Elora-Fergus the best place to live, work and raise a family? As host, you’ll be guiding collaboration on this — bringing ideas together to ensure locals feel supported and engaged.
Be among the first: Similar to managing a group on Facebook, host positions are voluntary. But unlike FB group admins, our hosts are frequently recognized and promoted on the leading source of local news and information in Elora-Fergus. They also have an opportunity to be among the first to help build a local online community that is safe, welcoming, diverse, non-toxic, informative and all about our hometown.
You’ll be connecting with others who share the same interests. And you’ll be contributing to a safe, locally-minded community.
We’ve already opened in neighbouring cities near you. Sudbury, North Bay, Burlington and Oakville are also up and running.
