Student yearbook images from six schools within the local public board have been compromised, thanks to a cyber security breach involving a subcontractor.
“This means that any photos collected for potential use in the yearbook may have been accessed in the incident,” states a comment from yearbook provider Edge Imaging, which is posted on the Upper Grand District School Board website on Friday.
"We are advised that only photos have been accessed, and no other identifying information such as school, grade, name or location were affected by the cyber incident.”
The impacted students attend Centennial CVI, Guelph CVI, Edward Johnson PS and Ken Danby PS in Guelph, as well as Wellington Heights SS in Mount Forest, with another in Shelburne.
Photos involved in the breach were for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 school yearbooks.
