Crane at Elora Mill development to be in place for at least a year

Crane is being used to help build a five-storey,136-unit condominium

ELORA – A new structure dominating the skyline in Downtown Elora marking progress on a large development is likely to be in place for at least a year, according to an Elora Mill spokesperson.

In mid-January, a crane was erected at the Elora Mill owned land opposite to the mill on the south side of the Grand River.

Sara MacIntyre, Elora Mill spokesperson, confirmed the crane seen at the Elora Mill South development is being used to build the Elora Mill Residences building.

This is a five-storey condo building that will eventually have 136 units.

MacIntyre said the crane should be in place for about a year and the building is targeted to be completed by the end of 2023.

The completed movement and reconstruction of the Potter Foundry building in the fall was considered to be the Elora Mill South development’s first major milestone.

“We are pleased with our continued project progress and the construction schedule for the Elora Mill Residences,” MacIntyre said.
