County councillors' combined pay tops $800K in 2022

WELLINGTON COUNTY — Members of county council were paid from $4,976 to $124,894 in 2022.

Since it was an election year, some council members stayed in their positions all year long, others left due to the election and some joined after the election, accounting for the salary range released by the county in a report.

Former warden Kelly Linton earned the highest on county council with a salary of $124,894.

The next highest paid county council member was Wellington North mayor Andy Lennox at $55,461 who became warden following the election.

Councillors David Anderson, Dianne Ballantyne, Doug Breen, Earl Campbell, Campbell Cork, Gregg Davidson, Jeff Duncan, Mary Lloyd, Stephen O'Neill, James Seeley and Chris White were paid $44,850.

Allan Alls, George Bridge and Don McKay were paid $39,874 as they left in October.

County councillors Matthew Bulmer, Michael Dehn, Dave Turton and Shawn Watters were paid a salary of $4,976 each as they spent the last two months of the year on council after being elected in October.

The total pay of county council members in 2022 was $813,244. The total pay to them including salary, benefits and expenses was $1,096,036.

Members of the Accessibility Advisory Board were paid $177.

Members of the Library Board were paid in the range of $1,236 to $1,589.

Finally, members of the Police Services Board, Gary Williamson was paid $1,236, Lisa MacDonald was paid $1,412 and Joann Ross-Zuj was payed $1,942.
