The Township of Centre Wellington is delighted to announce the New Resident Reception, designed to warmly welcome new residents to the community and help them settle into their new home with confidence! This initiative aims to create a welcoming environment for all residents and foster a strong sense of belonging within our vibrant community.
The New Resident Reception will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex (550 Belsyde Ave, Fergus) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will feature a wide range of resources tailored to help new residents get acquainted with their new home. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about recreational programs, parks, facilities, trails and community events that make every day an adventure.
- Discover the local business ready to serve you and realize how volunteering in the community can help you meet others and feel engaged.
- Engage with municipal representatives and connect with different services available to you.
- Meet fellow new residents, start building lasting connections in our welcoming community, and settle into your new home with confidence.
“Adjusting to a growing community can be overwhelming,” said Mayor Shawn Watters. “To help make this transition smoother for everyone, we want to ensure that new residents have the essential information they need to feel right at home. The New Resident Reception is a welcoming event aimed at introducing newcomers to local services, and how to find the information they need, specific to Centre Wellington.”
