CENTRE WELLINGTON – It will be a jam packed Canada Day in Elora and Fergus on Saturday.
Kicking-off with a pancake breakfast and soap box derby race in Elora and finishing with fireworks in Fergus, events and activities run throughout much of the day in Centre Wellington.
The day’s events start in Elora in the morning and early afternoon with the following schedule:
- Pancake breakfast, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., 1 MacDonald Square
- Soap box derby races, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., David and Geddes Street
- Dominion Day parade, 11 a.m., starts at the Elora Community Centre and finishes at Bissell Park
- Free hot dog lunch, live music and highland dancing, noon to 1 p.m., Bissell Park
- Rotary Club duck race, 1:30 p.m., Bissell Park
The Elora Farmers Market will be going ahead normally at Bissell Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
After a few hour break, the celebration shifts to Fergus at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
This event will feature food trucks, vendors and many activities including:.
- Dress your pet contest, 4:30 p.m.
- Zumba, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- Canada themed bingo, 5:30 p.m.
- Kids story time, 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
- Fergus Brass Band, 6:15 p.m. and 8:20 p.m.
- Bears cheerleading show, 6:30 p.m.
- Costume parade, 7:30 p.m.
- Bingo, 7:45 p.m.
- Music, 8:30 p.m.
- Fireworks, 9:30 p.m.
