In June 2020, Family Counselling and Support Services rebranded and changed its name to Compass Community Services (CCS). CCS Executive Director Joanne Young Evans said, “Compass was chosen to capture the reliable, trusted direction and support the agency brings to community members. The bold new logo adopts the key element of the old logo — caring, connected hands — while representing the guidance and direction Compass provides for community members. “Just so you know - the hands have been part of our logo since our incorporation in 1986. Our 35th anniversary is December 11!”
A May 25, 2021, media release explained that Compass. former name was outdated and often led to confusion in the community. The name change reflects the evolution of the organization along with its current vision to maintain a resilient and supported community through a range of services.
While the organization’s name and logo have changed, Young Evans reassures that its services and commitment to the communities it serves have not. “The services are the same as they were before the rebrand. Regardless of the best direction for you, the professional Compass staff can guide the residents of Guelph and Wellington there. Because everyone needs a little help now and then.”
