One charged in connection with arson on White's Trail in Palmerston

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH — Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Major Crime unit has charged a person in relation to two fires on the White's Trail in Palmerston.

On April 11, 2020, at approximately 7:30 p.m. OPP responded to a reported suspicious fire on the White's Trail near Wellington Road 5. On June 2, 2021, at approximately 1:30 p.m. OPP responded to a reported suspicious fire on White's Trail near Wellington Road 5. In both cases the Minto Fire Department attended and extinguished the fires at a cost of approximately $3000 per fire.

As a result of the investigation, Amber Lyn Somerville, 28-years-old of Palmerston, has been charged with two counts of Arson. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph.
