Cameron Taylor McKee, a talented teacher with artistic abilities, the beloved son of Earl and Linda of Elora and dear brother of Jonathan. Good times were had with the McKee and Taylor families, Uncle Ross and Aunt Marilyn of Waterloo, Uncle Greg and Aunt Mel of British Columbia, Aunt Jill in Dartmouth, and with cousins living across Canada. Many good times were had with long-term friends and neighbours keenly interested in home renovations and sailing. Cameron became an avid sailor with his grandfather on the Bay of Quinte. As a teenager he taught sailing at Picton and Sparrow Lake Camp in Muskoka. Sailing his 25 foot “Beatrix” on Burlington Bay and Lake Ontario gave him great pleasure.

As a Professor of Interior Design at Sheridan College since 2006, Cameron specialized in healthcare, AutoCAD, and Ontario Building Code. Following graduation from Claude Watson School for the Arts, he obtained a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Guelph. He designed and constructed sets for drama productions and created sculptures from clay, wood, metal, and concrete. He achieved an MA in Interior Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York. As a Teaching Assistant at RIT he acquired skills for his teaching career. For ten years Cameron worked as an interior design professional at GE in the United States and Canada and at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre in Hamilton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Graham Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus, Ontario on June 22, 2024 at 11:00 am.

Donations in Cameron’s memory may be made to Groves Memorial Community Hospital Foundation.
