On the ice: how Wellington County hockey teams did last weekend

Weekly wrap-up on the wins and losses from the Elora Rocks, Fergus Whalers, Mount Forest Patriots, Erin Outlaws and Minto 81's

ELORA ROCKS

Elora won its home opener last Friday evening 9-5 against the Tillsonburg Thunder. 

The Rocks play at home again this Friday against the Tilbury Bluebirds before heading to Stratford to take on the Fighting Irish. 

FERGUS WHALERS

The Whalers scored two victories over the weekend. The first was on Saturday in Mitchell with a 5-3 win over the Hawks. 

The next day at home, the team won 5-1 over the Walkerton Capitals. 

Fergus plays three times this coming weekend, first at home Friday evening against the Mitchell Hawks, Saturday evening in Mount Forest against the Patriots and back home Sunday for an afternoon match-up with the Wingham Ironmen.

MOUNT FOREST PATRIOTS

Mount Forest won two out of three games the team played over this past weekend. 

The team first lost in a high scoring match-up with the Hanover Barons, falling 11-2 at the P and H Centre. 

The Patriots rallied back to win 7-6 against Wingham at home on Saturday and then 5-3 over the Goderich Flyers on Sunday at home.

Mount Forest will play twice at home this coming weekend, first against Wingham on Friday and then hosting Fergus on Saturday.
