After more than six years with the Town of Erin, CAO Nathan Hyde is moving on. He was announced Wednesday as the incoming top bureaucrat for the Town of Caledon.
Fire chief Jim Sawkins will be filing the role of acting-CAO, Erin Mayor Michael Dehn said in a statement posted to the municipal website.
"Nathan Hyde has been an amazing CAO for the town, with a strong record of success and we are saddened by his departure to pursue another employment opportunity," the statement reads. "He leaves a legacy of positive and transformational change that will carry Erin into the future, and a solid record of fiscal accountability."
Hyde's first day on the job in Caledon is set for Aug. 8. The Town of Erin statement notes he's agreed to provide support during the transition period.
Hyde joined the Town of Erin as chief administrative officer in early 2017.
“As CAO, Nathan managed the town’s growth file including developing a plan for the community to double its urban population and negotiating a $180-million deal to build the largest public works project in the history of Wellington County,” states the Caledon announcement, referring to Hyde’s time in Erin.
Prior to joining Erin, Hyde served as the chief of staff to the chair at the Region of Peel. He currently serves as the provincially-appointed chair of the CTC Source Protection Committee, responsible for protecting drinking water sources across the Greater Toronto Area.
