FERGUS – If you’re interested in taking home a piece of the former Groves Hospital then you’re in luck.

The Groves Hospital Foundation is holding a “pick a brick” fundraiser where bricks from the now torn down hospital are available as a keepsake by donation.

The event will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the old Groves site’s back parking lot on the corner of Gowrie and Queen Street.

Donations can be made by cash, cheque or online through a QR code.  Donations higher than $20 are eligible for a tax receipt.

Funds raised from the brick sales will go towards equipment and technological tools needed at the Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

The old Groves Hospital was permanently closed in 2020 as the new site opened in Aboyne. The former hospital was later demolished in 2024.
