NEWS RELEASE
ELORA CENTRE FOR THE ARTS
*************************
The Elora Centre for the Arts is excited to announce a new partnership with Skyline Group of Companies this holiday season designed to make every act of generosity go further.

From now through Dec. 31, Skyline has pledged to match all donations made to the Arts Centre up to $10,000. This partnership will effectively double the impact of every donation.

Supporting Community Through Art

The funds raised will directly support the Arts Centre’s Community Outreach Programs, which are either free or offered at a highly subsidized rate to make them accessible to those who need them most:

  • Supportive Arts for Adults with (Dis)Abilities: This program offers twice-weekly inclusive art and mindfulness classes for adults with varying abilities and their caregivers from Centre Wellington and surrounding areas.
  • Youth Addiction & Recovery Program: In partnership with Portage Elora, this innovative program connects youth in recovery with local artists and musicians for weekly classes that encourage self-expression through creativity and the arts.
  • Community Connections Through ArtThis in-school program connects elementary and secondary students with (dis)abilities, including intellectual and/or developmental delays, to important issues in their community through collaboration and artistic expression.

“Participation in the arts can be truly transformative, especially for those facing significant challenges in their lives,” said Lianne Carter, Executive Director of the Elora Centre for the Arts. “Our outreach programs aim to foster self-esteem, improve mental health and create a sense of belonging that can be life-changing for everyone involved.”

“While we’ve been focused this year on raising funds for our expansion, these programs remain at the heart of what we do, so we’re immensely grateful to have Skyline’s support. Their generous matching pledge is a powerful way to inspire our community, amplify support for these essential programs and make a difference this holiday season.”

“At Skyline, we strongly believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back,” said R. Jason Ashdown, Co-Founder and Chief Sustainability Officer at Skyline Group of Companies.

“The Elora Centre for the Arts outreach programs foster creativity, resilience, and connection, and make a profound difference for those in need. By matching donations this holiday season, we hope to inspire others to join us in supporting these vital programs and creating a lasting impact in our community.”
