The Sensational Elora team was delighted to be actively engaged with the community again in 2022.
After two years with no events and no donations, the Sensational Elora board said it is pleased with the results for 2022 as it continues to help combat food insecurity in Centre Wellington.
This year, the donation to the Centre Wellington Food Bank totalled $9,052.48, while the donation to CW Eats at Centre Wellington District High School was $947.61, the group said in a news release.
Sensational Elora organizes several fundraising events each year, with all profits donated to these two organizations.
Events include Film-On-A-Plate, Fabulous Fergus Pub Night, Pumpkin Day, Sensational Soup-Off (and Empty Bowls) and Monster March.
Over its 13 active years, the group has now donated more than $140,000.
They sent a thank-you to all their volunteers, sponsors, partners, and especially thanked all the participants in their events.
Kirk McElwain, chair of Sensational Elora, suggested if you are interested in being part of their team or just want to know more about Sensational Elora, contact them at [email protected] or visit their website.
They are actively recruiting new board members and committee members.
Sensational Elora also organizes Monster Month in Elora, so there are many opportunities to get involved in your community and have fun while you’re doing it, they said.
