RIDE check leads to impaired charge in Guelph-Eramosa

Police say they stopped the 24-year-old around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 31 on Jones Baseline

GUELPH-ERAMOSA — On Aug. 31, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Jones Baseline, Guelph- Eramosa.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was assessed for sobriety. As a result of the investigation, [a 24-year-old] from Georgetown, was charged with:

  •  Operation While Impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, at a later date.
