Eight local charities recently received donations from a group representing retired educators living in Wellington county.

Contributions totalling $1,300 were made to Palmerston Food Bank, Drayton Community Food Bank, Mount Forest Food Bank, Arthur Food Bank, East Wellington Community Services, Centre Wellington Food Bank, The Salvation Army and Hope House.

The funds, explains Scott Montgomery, RTOERO district 31’s second vice-president, were given to “organizations that help to support the diverse needs of our growing communities.”

Donations were made within the past week.

The local RTOERO group represents over 1,400 retired educators living in Wellington county.
