A new report says much needed repairs at cemeteries in Erin will cost the town an estimated $215,000.
The report, which will be discussed at council Thursday, stems from a decision in June 2021.
Back then, council asked for staff to put together a review of repairs and renovations needed at each of the nine cemeteries.
The Erin Pioneer — or the former McMillan Cemetery on Wellington Road 23 — comes in at the biggest estimated cost: $75,000. This includes foundation repairs and rehabilitation, as well as replacing signs, and removing and trimming trees.
Work at other properties include cleaning monuments and repairs to concrete and fencing.
The report states once passed, staff will look into more accurate quotes on repairs before allocating funds in future capital budgets to do the work.
It adds work will be prioritized based on risk and property damage, but there's no specific timeline on when work will be done.
