Elora Community Theatre performs the classic Jane Austen tale, Pride and Prejudice!
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
Lots of laughter with this comedy filled with excitement, confusion, conflict, duty, and romance as the frantic “Mama” races to marry off her five daughters. Was ever a mother as put upon as Mrs. Bennet?
Surrounded by four sisters, a dithering but determined matchmaking mother, and a beloved, long-suffering father, Elizabeth Bennet is one of literature’s most cherished heroines.
Directors Deb Stanson and David Tanner bring to life this beloved tale of the independent -minded Elizabeth Bennet and the enigmatic Mr. Darcy, as they navigate social expectations and pre-conceived notions and discover the pride of one and the prejudice of the other!
Set in England in the early 1800s, the comedy and irresistible romance of Jane Austen’s masterpiece has won generations of fans with over 20 million copies of Pride and Prejudice sold worldwide. Now see it come to life on stage with a lively adaption by Jane Kendall.
