MAPLETON – The Grand River Conservation Authority plans to close a section of a county road in Mapleton for dam repairs.
An email from Brian Hunt, Conestogo Lake Conservation Area superintendent, explained the GRCA will close Wellington Road 11 during the week of Oct. 2.
This is to allow crane access to the Conestogo Dam for repairs.
The closure will be between Fourth Line and Wellington Road 45 daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. but Hunt said in his email the hope is to keep the closure to the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to avoid issues with student transportation.
The crane is expected to be onsite two of the days weather permitting.
Notice signs have been posted on Wellington Road 11 Monday morning to advise of the delay.
