PALMERSTON – Officials have declared a COVID outbreak after one inpatient and two staff have tested positive at Palmerston and District Hospital.
All inpatient visiting has been cancelled at the hospital aside from very limited, special circumstances.
In response to the outbreak, obstetrical services are being redirected. OB patients are asked to check with their physician to determine the best care plan.
A press release states the variant of COVID is not known at this time but the hospital is working with public health to respond to the outbreak.
The emergency department, diagnostic imaging, ambulatory care, and day surgery that doesn't require hospital admission remain open. Patients are asked to call ahead to confirm their appointment as plans could change.
