OPP release photo showing damage from suspected arson in Palmerston

Police are asking for those living in the area to check their security camera footage for suspicious activity

Wellington OPP are investigating a suspicious fire of a wooden train car at the Lions Heritage Park in Palmerston.

PALMERSTON – Wellington OPP is requesting those in the area around Minto's Lions Heritage Park to check their surveillance footage for anything suspicious captured the Saturday afternoon of a suspected arson.

Police released an image showing damage to a wooden train car from a fire at the Lions Heritage Park in Palmerston. 

On Dec. 14, Wellington OPP and fire services responded to a small fire at the park involving one of the wooden trains.

There were no injuries but the fire remains under investigation by the major crime unit. Police said the fire is considered suspicious. 

Cost of the damage is unknown at this time.

The Wellington OPP is requesting anyone who lives in the immediate area around the park to check their video surveillance footage for any suspicious activity or suspects that may have been captured between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 14.
