For the past 20 years, Elora & Fergus have transformed into Ontario's ultimate Halloween destination, and this year, Monster Month is gearing up for another record-breaking celebration.

At the heart of Monster Month is Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo, a mesmerizing monster display. Over 100 illuminated monsters will "invade" the village of Elora throughout October, creating a stunning spectacle that has become the focal point of this beloved event. What started with just four unique monsters has grown into a phenomenon that draws tens of thousands of visitors annually.

This year's Monster Month promises an action-packed calendar filled with Halloween-themed events and surprises. Some of the highlights include:

  • The Awakening (Oct 5): Forget the ribbon cutting! Centre Wellington Mayor, Shawn Watters, will officially release the monsters by smashing a pumpkin with a sledgehammer. This free, fun-filled event kicks off the festivities with a zombie invasion, a Halloween fashion show, live music, and unexpected surprises that will leave you spellbound.
  • Meet the Monsters (Fridays): Step into the shadows with our spooktacular walking tour! Join a charismatic and eerie volunteer guide as they lead you through the illuminated streets of Elora, sharing the spine-tingling stories behind many of the favourite monsters.
  • The Monster March (Oct 19): A non-motorized parade of costumed characters and creatures and a Wicked Wagons contest roaming the streets of Elora. It's a must-see event where everyone is encouraged to dress up and join the monstrous fun!
  • Pumpkin Day (Oct 12): This festive celebration is packed with activities and entertainment for kids of all ages; including a professional pumpkin carver, African drum circle, face painting, a reptile show, live music and much more.
  • And many, more, all month long: From Guided Ghost Tours, Haunted Houses, and Dancing Witches there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the events are free and family-friendly, and local businesses and restaurants in Elora and Fergus will be offering Halloween-themed specials throughout the month.

Monster Month is organized by Sensational Elora, a local non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger in the community. Don’t miss out on the spooktacular fun! For a complete list of events and more information, visit monstermonth.ca.
