IT prequel series likely what's filming at Rockwood Conservation Area

Signs point to Greetings from Fairview as being the code name for upcoming HBO series Welcome to Derry

ROCKWOOD – Film crews at Rockwood Conservation Area could be filming the prequel TV series for a Stephen King adaptation.

Signs outside and in the Rockwood Conservation Area indicate a film production called Greetings from Fairview by Reaper’s Image Productions Ltd. is taking place there.

News reports of this production filming in Port Hope indicate the town was turned into Derry, Maine. Derry is the setting of the IT horror series, which had two movies released in the late 2010s and used Port Hope to film.

An HBO prequel series called Welcome to Derry is currently in production starring Bill Skarsgård, returning to his role as Pennywise, and also starring James Remar, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk and Taylour Paige.

Andy Muschietti, who directed the recent IT films, has been attached to this prequel series. A list of productions from the City of Toronto lists Muschietti as the director of Fairview

A person who answered a  phone number attached to the Greetings from Fairview production confirmed this was the production in Rockwood but directed media inquiries to an email address.

A list of questions sent including confirmation this is the Welcome to Derry series, how long filming would take place, if there would be any closures or noise associated with filming and the nature of what was being filmed were not answered prior to publishing.

Welcome to Derry serves as a prequel series to IT, which is about a group of outcast children and later adults who are terrorized by a supernatural being often taking the form of Pennywise the Clown which emerges from the sewers of Derry.
