The Guelph Humane Society is getting some funding help to expand a behaviour training program for dogs.

The humane society is getting a $10,000 grant from the PEDIGREE Foundation. The money is aimed at expanding the local shelter's behaviour training and modification program "to improve adoptability and well-being of dogs with behavioural issues."

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth also got $10,000 as it looks to expand and enhance safety net programs.

This includes a pet pantry, veterinary outreach and a training scholarship program.

GHS is one of 10 Canadian animal shelters sharing in a $100,000 pot made available annually.
