ABOYNE – As a close-out celebration to their Let’s Party Exhibit, The Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) will host Starlight Ball – a formal gala event.

On Friday, Sept. 27, from 7 – 10 p.m., attendees can enjoy:

  • Filling an old-fashioned dance card
  • Dances led by expert instructors from the Fergus-Elora Academy of Dance, including waltzes, tangos, and foxtrots
  • A signature cocktail and hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening
  • Costume admiration (all attendees are encouraged to dress up)
  • Historical insights from the popular Let’s Party Exhibit

“Throughout history, dancing events and balls have served as vital spaces where communities come together to honor traditions, forge connections, and create shared memories,” said Emily Peters, Museum Programming Supervisor. “Many people will never have had the opportunity to attend a ball before – we’re very excited to offer this unique experience, allowing our guests to step back in time and immerse themselves in the elegance and joy of a bygone era. It’s a chance to celebrate not only our rich history but also the timeless art of coming together in festive unity.”

Tickets to the Starlight Ball are limited and can be purchased at www.wellington.ca/StarlightBallOnlineRegistration for $40 +HST including a signature cocktail, or $30 +HST without alcohol.

The Wellington County Museum and Archives is located on Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora.
