ERIN – A structure fire out in rural Erin has been deemed non-suspicious but the cause remains under investigation.

A media release from Erin fire chief Jim Sawkins said both Erin and Hillsburgh stations were dispatched to a reported storage shed fire just after 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

The structure was at the NRD BiProducts property at 5435 Fourth Line.

“Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the involved structure, fire was located in the middle of the structure and crews commenced an aggressive internal attack,” the release stated.

A fire crew of 25 total firefighters were able to put the fire out around 7:10 a.m. and were back at the stations a half hour later.

The fire is currently under investigation by Sawkins but has been deemed non-suspicious.
