Elora Adventure Film Festival returns to the Gorge Cinema

The festival features two curated film programs and a speaker series

ELORA – A film festival celebrating the spirit of adventure returns to Elora this week. 

The Elora Adventure Film Festival (EAFF) begins Thursday evening at the Gorge Cinema and runs all weekend.

The festival features two curated film programs showcasing 20 films from around the world including Mongolia, Nepal, Tajikistan, Norway, the United States and Canada. 

The first program runs on Thursday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Program two screens on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday also features a speaker series at the Elora Centre for the Arts starting with EAFF founder and adventurer Ian Evans at 10:30 a.m. where he will recount some of his experiences and lessons learned from expeditions around the globe, according to the EAFF website.

Evans will be followed by Scott Kress at noon. Kress is the 15th Canadian to climb the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents, known as the “seven summits,” and will talk about his Mount Everest expedition. 

The speaker series will be capped off by explorer Adam Shoalts at 5 p.m. but this is already sold out.
