CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington will again be a host community for a national celebration of arts and culture.

The Township of Centre Wellington, in partnership with the Elora Fergus Arts Council, is hosting Culture Days in the township again.

Thousands of free, participatory arts and culture events are under the Culture Days banner to increase public engagement in cultural experiences in communities large and small. This year’s celebrations take place Sept. 20 through Oct. 13.

Last year, Centre Wellington was recognized as the number one top participating Culture Days community in the towns and rural areas category and number five overall.

This year’s theme in Centre Wellington is CommUNITY: A Melody of 25 years which Paula Seeley, community development coordinator, said in an email embodies “harmony, unity and the celebration of our vibrant cultural tapestry in Centre Wellington — while also being a nod to the 25th anniversary of amalgamation in Centre Wellington.”

“We are inviting all of Centre Wellington to join us as the community comes together to create a beautiful melody of diversity and harmony through various cultural events, performances, and activities that make living in this community vibrant and entertaining,” Seeley wrote.

“All events are free or a pay what you may to eliminate barriers for participation.”

Events have begun to be listed online and more can be submitted through the township’s website or by email [email protected] .
